Member Spotlight: Leah's Journey of Impact and Community
Leah joined Triangle YP Civitan in June 2024, and from day one, she dove in headfirst! At her very first volunteer event, Leah brought her contagious smile, can-do attitude, and an unwavering willingness to get her hands dirty. Over the months, she has dedicated countless hours to making a difference at a variety of events, quickly becoming a cornerstone of our group.
It didn’t take long for Leah to go above and beyond by joining our marketing committee. Whether she’s snapping photos or managing our social media posts, Leah’s enthusiasm and creativity shine through in everything she does.
Finding Friendship and Purpose
Leah decided to join last summer to branch out, meet new people, and make an impact in her community. Her warmth and positivity have made her a welcoming presence at every event, and many members will agree that she’s a true joy to be around.
One of Leah’s favorite memories with the group is her first social event: a night out at a Durham Bulls game. That evening, she connected with so many kind and welcoming people, solidifying her decision to stay involved. The laughter and camaraderie she experienced that night inspired her to keep coming back.
Making an Impact: A Hurricane Helene Supply Drive
Of all the events Leah has participated in, the Hurricane Helene Supply Drive last October stands out as her favorite. This community-driven event brought people together to support neighbors in Western North Carolina affected by the hurricane. Leah describes the overwhelming response from both the club and the community as truly awe-inspiring. Everyone came together so quickly, ready to do whatever it took to help.
Proud Moments: Habitat for Humanity Build
Leah’s proudest moment, however, came during our recent Habitat for Humanity build. Alongside fellow members, Leah tackled tasks like shoe molding, concrete work, door handle installations, and constructing porch railings. It was a day of hands-on effort, teamwork, and visible impact.
“Seeing the direct results of our hard work was so inspiring,” Leah shares. “Everyone was all in, fully committed to getting the job done, no matter how messy or challenging. It’s always incredible to witness what we can achieve when we come together for a good cause.”

Leah’s dedication, positivity, and community spirit embody everything we stand for as an organization. She reminds us of the incredible impact one person can have when they’re passionate about serving others.
